Jet Ski Virgin No Longer

This passed weekend I rode AND drove my first jet ski!! Our wonderful friend, Ben, has all the toys anyone can want, so we get to reap the benefits.

I was a little scared getting on the jet ski, and if anyone knows Pat history knows I had reason to be petrified. I made Pat promise me we wouldn't roll, not knowing you can't really "roll" a jet ski. So of course Pat threw us off, but only once.

I even had enough guts to drive it myself and it was SO fun! It is by far the most fun water activity I have ever done and cant wait to go out again!

Cascade Springs

This past Sunday our little family went on a little outing to a tranquil place in the mountains called Cascade Springs.  It is a park with raised walks ways through natural springs. Pat found this little spot about 5 years ago on his scooter.  We went on our first date here 2 years ago and I have fell in love with it.

The Two Men in My Life

A quick little cat nap, or "ferret" nap.
We both know that this is cute to nobody except us.

At least we KNOW we are weird.

WICKED!!!!

This past weekend Pat, my sister Jodi, I flew to L.A. to see the Musical "Wicked." My brother in-law was already going to be there for work so my sister invited us to go with her to see "Wicked," knowing that it has been my dream for the past 4 years. And let me tell you, it was everything I thought it would be and more!

Picture taken "pre-show" I was just SOOOOO excited.

My sister Jodi and I before the show.

Pat and I ready to see Wicked.

Jodi and her husband Jordan

The next day, Jordans work was having a family fair. It was a blast with all entertainment being free. Pat was just going crazy winning all the "quality fair" stuffed animals.

Jodi and Jordan got their fortunes read. Apparently they are going to have 2 more boys, they are going to move, and Jodi is going to get a new job and cat. I also got it done (Don't judge me! What happens in California, stays in California). I am going to have 2 kids (a boy and a girl, in that order) one right after the other and Pat is going to make a lot of money. We will see how that goes.

We got some sweet tats'.

A striking resemblance!

The thing I love most about California is the beach.

Night life. Santa Monica Beach.

All in all it was a great weekend get-a-way. But as always, there is no place like home.

Lake Powell 2008

This past weekend we took a quick trip to Lake Powell on Pat's second family's, the Roedels, houseboat. We weren't sure if we were going to go since the trip would be so short–Friday through Sunday–but we went anyways...and it was well worth it.

The Lake Powell Gang:

Middle: Left to Right–Ben, Paige, Nolan, Brian, Kirsten, Jared, Laurence
Bottom: Kyle

Just Jeff, me and Patrick taking in the scenic view of a giant sand dune.

The island dudes from a distance

This was my favorite part of the trip. In 100 degree weather we hiked just about a mile to some hidden sand dunes. On the way there were TONS of little frogs everywhere. I felt like I was 7 years old again. I was so intrigued by them and couldn't get enough.

A group hike to watch the sunset just up the hill from were the houseboat was parked.

There is just so much to do in Lake Powell, especially when you are creative like Pat.
