Graphic Novel...page one.

(click picture to enlarge)

Today. Bored. Going through files on my computer. I found this. One of my many unfinished art projects. My friend had me start a Graphic Novel (basically an adult comic book) for her school project. It made me realize how much I miss doing art. Although I fear art I believe with all this time I am going to take it up as a hobby. Maybe even finish this page.

Little League Fun

We are still out of our apartment. They say it could be another 2 weeks. However, the good side to all this mess is that we have been coming up to my sister's house on the weekends. Their Saturdays are filled with football and soccer games. I love photographing my nephews, they are just so cute.

My dad came in for the weekend. It is fun to see how much my nephews love their Grandpa.

Pat is the MOST adorable Uncle. He is absolutely amazing with them and always so fun and creative. Their is NEVER a dull moment when Uncle Pat is around.

Malibu Triathlon

Several months ago the Roedel family (Pat's life-long friends from Colorado) asked Pat to run a leg of the Malibu Triathlon. Pat willingly accepted their request thinking it would help him start running again. However, time flew with us being in NYC over the summer and the triathlon snuck up on us and was here before we knew it.

However, Pat did GREAT running 4 miles for Rick Roedel finishing the race in good time.

Pat getting his number for the race.

Starting the race with a bang.

There were LOTS of celebrities participating in the race, even THE HOFF (Notice his shirt—sick!). It was crazy because the stars were right in the mix of things. We frequently were right next to Mario Lopez (who I found extremely cocky—so I refused to take a picture of him hahha) and Pat finished the race right after Terry Hatcher.

Pat starting the run portion of the race. He was running so fast he was a complete blur!

Pat after the race. Looking a little tired.

Poor Ben. Ben trained for the race extensively and then the morning of the race he crashed on his bike, cracked one of his shoulder bones, and was unable to participate.

We ran for the DreamWorks team.

Pat had no idea what to expect from the race but he really enjoyed it. He plans on training for next year and participating in all 3 events.

I love going on trips and experiencing new things with Pat. We had so much fun together this weekend in Southern California and would love to visit again soon.

Time with the Storms

This past weekend Pat and I went to Southern California for Pat to run a leg in a triathlon. My brother, Justin, and his family just recently moved to So. Cal., so we thought we would try to make a trip of it.

Unfortunately, we only got to spend a day and half with my adorable nieces (Callie, Mariah, and Norah), Justin, and Jannah, but I am glad we at least go that much time together.

We spent a few hours at the beach on Friday and had a blast.

We also took a walk/bike ride around a lake,

Jannah whipped up a DELICIOUS meal in a matter of minutes,

and the girl swam around in the hot tub.

All in all the time with them was way too fun but way too short.

Flash Back: New York City

I was going through my pictures of New York the other day and found this skyline picture that Pat took from a hotel window.

I plugged it into Photoshop, and presto a new work of art we are going to hang in out apartment someday (if we ever get to move back in!)

DeBeikes'—pronouced: Dee-Bay-Kiss

We have the best friends anyone could ever ask for.

Last weekend we spent the whole weekend at our friends, Chris and Annie DeBeikes', house. We are still homeless and need to save hotel money because we only have a $2,000 limit. We are running low and still do not know when we will be able to move back in.

But luckily, we have great friends that let us crash at their place any time we need—they even gave us a KEY!

Pat bought this Magic Eye book at D.I. He has never been able to do them before, but magically right in the middle of Deseret Industries IT happened! He just had to buy the book and share his "out-of-body experience" (as he calls it) with Chris and Annie.

Saturday night we headed to downtown Provo for a Latin festival.

This was the highlight of the Festival—"REAL Wrestlers." They were pretty ridiculous, but the crowd loved them. (I can't figure out why it's pixelated—sorry)

Book Review: Catching Fire

It's September 4th. What does that mean? That means that "Catching Fire" (Hunger Games 2) by Suzanne Collins came out 3 days ago. Just enough time for me to buy, read and finish "Catching Fire" by last night.

I have been anticipating the release date of this book ever since I finished "Hunger Games" this summer. "Hunger Games" was by far my favorite read of the summer and "Catching Fire" was the perfect sequel.

For those of you who have not read "Hunger Games," I will not ruin it for you by telling you the plot of "Catching Fire," but you must go out and get "Hunger Games" and read it today. I am convinced you will be hooked.

"Catching Fire" is the second book in this trilogy, so of course I am left hanging wanting more. However, besides the disappointing fact that I am left having to wait yet another year (I really don't know how long) until the final book comes out, "Catching Fire," yet again, had me in suspense not knowing how events would pan out.

So, all in all, go out and READ!

Home is where the <3 is.

This past weekend Pat and I were able to feel at home when we stayed at my sister's house in Syracuse, Ut. It was so nice to be able to sleep in the same bed 3 nights in a row. In the few days we were there we had a lot of fun and took a lot of pictures of my adorable nephews: Luke, Dylan and Mason.

A big thanks to the Rowell's for making us feel at home.
