Until Next Time, California...

While the families with kids went to Legoland and Disneyland Pat and spent a lot of time walking the beaches and thrift store shopping.

It was so nice to not have a schedule and just relax with my favorite person in the whole wide world.

It was weird being on the West Coast. Wide open spaces, driving a car, no humidity, reasonable prices, palm trees, and just a slowed down pace of life all added to my desire to one day move back. However, it was a little weird for everything to be so spread out.

After staying in a large villa type of apartment all week, when I walked into our NYC apartment I was SHOCKED at how old and small everything was—I felt a bit claustrophobic. It is amazing how I have gotten so used to NYC living.

Despite all those perks, I missed the NYC convenience of having everything a hop, skip and jump away. It is so nice to run across the street and just grab whatever ingredient you forgot to pick up for dinner. I missed the excitement and the energy.

No matter the vacation, it is always nice to come home.
Home sweet home.

  1. Ahhhhh - it looks amazing. I used to be so opposed to California because that's what you do growing up in Utah, you hate California. Haha. Now I realize I was being ridiculous and I don't know what I was thinking! California is amazing! I wouldn't mind living there if that's where life takes us. But you are so right, it's good to come home... I love New York!
