Every Saturday should be like this Saturday

Since last weekend was a total bust with me being sick, both Pat and were determined to make this weekend count. We didn't want to sleep the day away by sleeping in too late, but we also didn't want to give up sleeping in completely so we slept in just the right about of time, and then we started our morning off right with a good old fashion NYC bagel at H&H Midtown Bagels. We tried H & H Bagels when my sister and her husband came to visit. We were trying to give them the most authentic NYC experience possible, so of course an NYC bagel was part of it.

As it turns out we had a very popular bagel shop just a few blocks away that serves some awesome bagels with a TON of cream cheese.

So, to kick off our perfect Saturday we started it with eating bagels in the park watching dogs in the dog park (by far my favorite thing to do). The weather was great and the sun felt so good on our skins. The day could have ended here and it would have been perfect, but it didn't, it just got better.

Next we started our bicycle search for me. Pat has been enjoying riding his bike so much that it started to make me jealous. He would go on bike rides all by himself, leaving me at home bikeless. I decided for the benefit of our marriage that I needed to get a bike too! haha

We went bike shopping and then took a lunch break at Mangia. We order Mangia a lot for my work and I have fallen in love with one of their sandwiches, the Telera Sandwich. It's so simple, but yet so good. I even found out that it got voted one of the top 101 sandwiches in NYC, and it certainly deserves the vote. I wanted Pat to experience it absolute goodness and just like I anticipated, Pat loved it.

After having a renewed energy from a great lunch we set out bike shopping again...and believe it or not we bought myself a nice new bike! When I saw it in the bike shop I knew it was mine and that bike and I were destined for one another. Paying half of the bike with a gift card my work gave me for Administrative Professionals Day, the bike ended up being a great deal, making it that much sweeter.

I rode the bike home from the bike shop, about a 4 miles ride and then Pat and I went out again. We had a great time riding all over the city even when we got caught in a TOTAL down poor.

By the end of the day I was exhausted but totally satisfied with our Saturday adventures. It was the first time in a long time that I fell asleep within minutes of my head hitting the pillow. Yes, it was a great day.
