The Mormons: Sister Storm from Mark Hedengren on Vimeo.
This video is a 6 minute video clip taken from "The Mormons" "a 28 Minute film that is part special screening at the LDS Film Fest that includes Latter-day Stranger, Supersonic Saints: Thrilling Stories form LDS Pilots and The Mormons." This film is now going to be playing at the LDS Film Fest on January 22nd.When I was on Temple Square I met a friend of a friend, Mark Hednegren. He is a amazing photographer and took some pictures of me. When I got home from my mission he interviewed me for a photographic film he was making. The audio that you hear is me answering different questions Mark asked me. It's funny to hear my voice fluctuations because I called the Temple Square accent. All the missionaries on temple square talk like it. I tried so hard not to fall into it and thought I had escaped, however, now I can easily hear that I did not succeed.
Here are some pictures that he took:
It is weird and scary how much I have forgotten about my mission. This May it will be 4 years since I have been home. Time flies. I am so glad that Mark did this interview; it brings me back to who I was on my mission and shortly after. Missionaries and return missionaries have such a spirit about them, such a zeal for life and the gospel. It makes me sad to listen to this video and hear how excited I was for life because of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Life so distracting; it is sad how in 4 years that spiritual flame has dimmed. Where has it gone and how can I get it back?

That's awesome! I saw another girl I know in that slideshow! How bizarre.
ReplyDeleteI love it! That did not sound like you at all. I loved hearing about your mission...it made me nostalgic and I've never even been a missionary.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your honesty in that commentary. I would imagine temple square is just as exotic as any other mission because of the number of different people you serve or come into contact with. You are great.
ReplyDeleteYou have come across some awesome experiences in your life and having that video to document it is such a blessing. You are a great interview!
ReplyDeleteHow neat sister! I love all that you said. I didn't know Temple Square sisters talk with a "special accent"! I guess that we foreigners have our own accents... he he he...!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's so so cool to see and hear you as a missionary! You're so cute in those pictures! Every week when I read my brother's letters I always think how I wish I could be doing missionary work right now instead of living real life. He is so HAPPY being a missionary. Sounds like you experienced that too. Maybe we should all try to be more like the missionaries. It would be great not to have to think about anything but the gospel, 24/7.
ReplyDeleteI loved your video! Haha, I loved your voice inflections. I didn't notice them at the time... but maybe that is because I had them too! Haha. I have actually been thinking about the things you wrote about recently. I have been missing my mission a lot recently. I also miss the mission and post-mission zeal for life and the gospel. Maybe we should reinstate our Sunday FHE's when you get out here...
ReplyDeleteStorm, you are awesome! I miss you!
ReplyDeleteI love this! You were the cutest missionary ever!! Last night I came across pictures of when I came to see you at the Lion House while you were giving the tour and I told you I was engaged and had a fake ring. Ahhh memories!! :) haha. Love ya Linz!
ReplyDeleteOk, I don't think it was the Lion House, that's the restaurant isn't it? hahahaha...the Beehive house???? Whatever! hahahaha
