'Gypsies' are defined as "persons of nomadic habit of life, whatever their race or origin, which may or may not include members of an organized group of traveling showmen, or persons engaged in traveling circuses, traveling together as such."
If only our lives were as glamorous as this...
We have been talking a lot about gypsies recently.
We took Frido to Central Park this week on a walk. You would think that New Yorkers are used to seeing things out of the ordinary and that a simple ferret would not excite them. However, this is quite the contrary—Frido was a hit. Wherever we went there was a group of people going crazy over our little furry regret. Pat and I joke that whenever you are feeling down or depressed, simply take Frido to a well populated park and soon enough you will be the most popular person there.
Anways, we went to Central Park with our British friend, Nate Wigglesworth. He was in awe of how tame and friendly Frido was because in England only the Gypsies own ferrets for the use of catching and killing rabbits. So besides our current 'nomad' life-style it seems that we have more than one thing in common with gypsies.
So yes, we still have not found a place to live and Pat starts work tomorrow. You would think that finding a job in during this economy would be the hard part of starting your lives out in New York City; however, it turns out that that was quite easy, and the hardest part is finding a place to call home. However, we are richly blessed regardless of how hard this may seem.
We are hoping we will find out more this week about our housing situation. Keep your fingers crossed!
That's so funny that Frido caused such a stir. Hahaha! I guess since technically they're illegal people aren't used to seeing them...?
ReplyDeleteI hope you find housing soon!!
Hey I know him
ReplyDeletecrossed and hopin'! love you guys!
ReplyDeleteI love that you take Frido out on walks! Kita creates a stir wherever she goes but I imagine a ferret would cause a mush greater stir. I'm still amazed by his armoire.
ReplyDeleteSo, are you living in your car til you find a place to live? I'm confused on how you are managing without a home base. I'm crossing my fingers for you!
Good luck finding a house!!!!
ReplyDeleteI miss your posts. Keep them coming.
