Before and After {Our Apartment}

So after 5 months of being in our apartment we are almost done moving in. Hip Hip Hooray! There are still a few things we want to do or buy, but those things can wait.

We did manage to take a few last minute "before" pictures; however, they were with Pat's camera phone and are a bit blurry. But I am SO glad that he took them because it is so fun to see the progress.

Our place is small (about 450-500 sq/ft) and old but we love it. We feel so lucky to have found it and to be able to make it our home.

  5. OH MY WORD! That is the most beautiful apartment I have ever seen. You are hired not only as a photographer but also a designer/decorator! I'm so afraid of color b/c I can't put it together, but you've got it girl! You can do anything with color!

  16. Chris and I have been back to look at this like 5 times. Your apartment is the perfect balance of color. I cannot wait to get into a place I can really call my own (paint, buy furniture we actually plan on keeping etc haha) but I am sure it wont be as awesome as this. It may very well be in new york tho so I may be giving you a call if you are still there! :)

  18. Lindsay, this is MAJOR eye candy. Seeing the before and after really made it sink in how AMAZING your apartment is. You are great. You should just quit your job and become an interior decorator. I feel like it fits you and Pat so well also, which is super cool. So many people's homes are really well decorated but it doesn't fit them. So, bravo! You did great!!!

    p.s. You are going to get SO many visitors now! Your place will be at the top of everyone's list to stay at!

  22. So, Abbie sent me your way and oh my!!!! It is beautiful! So impressive everything you did and in such a short amount of time. I've been in my house 3 years and still have such a long list. You are so very talented.

  24. Wow! I love every single thing about your apartment. You have such a great eye! And way to maximize your space! I absolutely love the stripes on your living room wall. How much of a pain was it to do? And where did you get your curtains? - nicole

  25. The stripes on my wall were SUPER easy to do. I just measure out the different widths of the stripes on the top of the wall and on the bottom. Then all I did was get paint-tape and tape it to the measurement on the top and pull it super tight and matched it to the measurement on the bottom. And that is it! And I got my curtains at a REALLY expensive store called...Walmart. haha

  26. and the curtains in the bedroom are from Target.

  27. thank you! you are my DIY/decorating hero! - n.

  29. Hi Lindsay, I came across your blog through a friend of a friends....hoping you can tell me where you got that awesome coat rack in your front hall, I love it! I love your taste!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hey Alison! I got the vinyl coat rack from Etsy found here:

    http://www.etsy.com/listing/46382000/wall-art-vinyl-decal-sticker-home-style?ref=sr_gallery_2&ga_search_query=vinyl+coat+rack&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade.

    Then I bought wooden dowels and painted them black and screwed them into the wall. If there are no studs in the wall you will need to buy drywall anchors (I think that is the name) so you can hang heavy bags on the dowels. That is what I did, but there may be an easier way!

  31. love what you did with your place. It's really really impressive :)
