I am 28 years old. I have a best friend named Jenny that I have been friends with for 28 years. We were born a month apart and have been friends ever since her birth. Someone try to beat that...I DARE you!
This past summer Pat and I planned on visiting his family in Colorado while Patrick attended one of his friends Wedding on 11.11.11. However, then the great debacle stuck when another one of his other good friends decided to get married on the same day in California! Pat was torn and didn't know what to do. However, despite all the puppies, fireworks, diabetic cookies, and tax exemptions promised to from both sides, Pat's decision was made when his friend, Jared, won the debate by asking him to be a groom's man in California.
However, since we have not been back to Pat's home town, in Colorado, since we got married we decided to still make the trip. We both left NYC on the same day; however, Pat flew to California while I flew to Colorado to visit with Jenny's family for a few days until Pat met up with me a few days later.
I was lucky enough that Jenny and her family live so close to Pat's home town, so it worked out perfectly! I spent 2 1/2 days with the Isom's and I had such a great time. Jenny sure does know how to make someone feel right at home.
When I arrived in Denver, I made my way to the baggage claim but on the way there I was interrupted by a cute boy running towards me. It took me a second to recognize Avery, Jenny's oldest, since it has been three years since I had seen him last and I was expecting them to pick me up outside. But instead Jenny and all her kids greeted me at the airport! Jenny is one classy lady!
Then when we arrived at their home, Annabelle, Jenny's second, had given up her bed and room for me to stay in while I was there AND they had a dozen roses for me. I mean COME ONE!!!! It doesn't get much better than this! I felt like royalty.
The next few days were spent playing with her three kids, Avery, Annabelle, and the newest addition Ammon (yup...all "A" names), eating good food, exploring the greater Denver area, and catching up. Jenny's kids are perfect and I attribute it to Jenny being such an amazing mom. She is so patient, loving and fun. I can only hope I am HALF the mom she is.

| I tried to take some pictures of Jenny and her family and Ammon was not a happy camper. The only way he would stop crying was when you lifted him above the fence so he could see the neighbors dogs! |

I had such a wonderful time with Jenny and her family. I am so glad that everything worked out the way it did that I was able to stay with them, even if it was only for a few days.
Here's to 28 more years of friendship, Jenny!
