Right now I work from home. Working from home can be a good thing and bad thing.
However, since I sit at a table facing a busy NYC avenue, one of the major perks to working from home is watching all the action during that day that everyone else misses.
Most recently, there has been a lovers quarrel that I have been watching that ended today with a police escort.
Yesterday I noticed a couple across the street yelling at each other. The lady had a suitcase and looked like she was trying to leave. I could not hear what was going on, but I could tell through the guys body language and hand movements that he was very upset. He would go from yelling at her to hugging her. A while after this they were fighting over apartment keys—yanking them from each others grasps. At one point they both went inside the building and I heard the lady scream. Right when I looked up I saw the guy running out of the building. I was worried something horrible had happened to the lady, but then I saw her exit the building uninjured.
This whole episode continued on into the evening when I saw the lady filling out a police report. Today, I saw the man being escorted by police out of the building. I guess their love story ended badly.
Who needs a TV when you have a window?
That is so crazy! I bet you see a ton of crazy things spending so much time looking out at the street. (Like the woman washing her hair in the fire hydrant, that one was soooo hilarious!) Keep taking pictures of the crazies, I love it.
ReplyDeleteummmm....i think this is amazing....as well as the woman washing her hair. haha
ReplyDeleteHow I love people watching! While I was out there, my mom and I sat on a bench at a park for about 2 hours just watching people.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh! if i lived closer i would come over and take a sit next to you. I love spying opps i mean "people watching" my neighbors.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...remind me to tell you the story of the time when we saw a big brawl outside one of those bars on 2nd one night. Also...on halloween, OH and when the Yankees won the world series, the noise actually woke me up.
ReplyDeleteit is entertaining living on 2nd avenue.
